On March 10, 2021, the IRS announced that the Victims of the Louisiana Winter Storms that occurred February 11-19, 2021 now have until June 15, 2021, to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments. Additional information can be found on the IRS website at Louisiana winter storm relief.
If you need additional time, beyond June 15, 2021, to file your returns, you can file an extension (7004 for business and 4868 for personal) and extend the filing date an additional 4 months from the extended date. You'll then have until September 15th, 2021 to file your return for 7004 extensions and until October 15th, 2021 for 4868 extensions. Please note any taxes owed will still be due on June 15th, 2021.
Note: The deadline for the state of Louisiana individual and business tax returns, tax payments and extensions has not been extended. Additional information can be found at State Tax Returns and Extensions.
